What we do
We replace rollers one at a time with the door supported, so it never hangs loose. Nylon rollers with sealed bearings are our default: quieter, no grease, better with humidity. The bottom rollers sit in a bracket under spring tension, so those are the ones you should never remove yourself.
Every roller job includes hinge lube, a track alignment check and an opener force test.

Try this first
A squeak isn't always rollers. Spray the hinges and roller bearings with a garage-door lubricant (silicone or lithium, not WD-40). Leave the tracks clean and dry. If the noise is gone, you just saved a visit. If it still grinds, it's our turn.
